Dino Sarac graduated with his Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree majoring in Structural Engineering from University of Sarajevo in 1985. He worked as a geotechnical design and consulting engineer in roles of increasing responsibility in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iraq, Australia and Malaysia before 2000, when he joined Bechtel Australia. Since 2000, Dino has worked with Bechtel except for 4 years with Golder Associates Jakarta as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer.
Dino is currently an Engineering Manager with Bechtel’s National Project Management Organization in Riyadh. From 2015 he was the Chief Geotechnical Engineer on the technically demanding Riyadh Metro Project. Earlier, Dino was the Chief Geotechnical & Hydraulics Services Engineer and Senior Geotechnical Engineer for Bechtel’s Mining & Metals Business, managing geotechnical engineering for mega mining projects, troubleshooting geotechnical engineering related issues and managing specialist teams in Brisbane, Santiago and Montreal.
Dino’s interests include traditional geotechnical engineering topics including investigations, specification and control of specialist construction, earthworks, foundation engineering, slope stability, retaining structures, ground improvement, earth and rockfill dams.
