Skanska , senior temporary works engineer
Matt was sponsored by Skanska as an undergraduate and worked on several different construction sites. His interest in Temporary Works was sparked by a summer spent working at Bond Street Crossrail Station in the temporary works team.
Since graduating with a first class masters in Civil Engineering from the University of Surrey, Matt has worked for Skanska in their Engineering Department. He’s engineered temporary works solutions across a range of projects including Crossrail Paddington Station, Crossrail Eleanor Street and Mile End Shafts, London Power Tunnels for National Grid, M1 Junction 19 Improvement for Highways England, Feeder 9 Humber tunnel for National Grid, and others.
He currently leads a small team responsible for designing or checking all temporary works across Skanska’s AMP6 frameworks with Welsh Water and Anglian Water, as well as a contract for National Grid. Matt is involved with temporary works schemes ranging from falsework and formwork, excavations and working platforms, to propping of deep basements, temporary concrete structures and all sorts of other bespoke schemes.
