Robert is a Chartered Engineer with the Institute of Civil Engineers and has two degrees, a BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering and a MSc in Project management. He joined Swanton in 2014 as an Associate and was made Director in 2015, after gaining varied construction experience which started in 1997 during a sandwich placement during his studies. His experience is varied covering demolition, rail depot and rail infrastructure works, airport infrastructure, structures and large earthworks/remediation works, along with heavy civils construction and design management.
Recent basement experience, mainly within Central London, includes a three-storey sheeted basement and a three-storey secant piled basement in Mayfair, a two-storey sheeted basement in Camden, a two-storey secant walled basement in Canada Water, a part new build two storey secant piled and part reuse existing in Farringdon, along with many others. Considerate of constructability in all stages of a project from demolition to new build and is always keen to look at new and improved methods or engineering challenges to improve a project.
