Tim is the project-wide geotechnical engineer on the Tideway Tunnel, currently under construction, providing contract management assurance and interpretation of ground conditions for the Client. He began his career as a mining and exploration geologist, spending several years in Australia and then deep mines in Botwsana. Since then, Tim has worked on numerous tunnelling schemes in the U.K., most notably the A27 bypass, Jubilee Line Extension (C104), Thames Water Ring Main and Lee Tunnel. Tim has considerable experience and expertise in identifying geohazardous ground conditions during the design and construction of underground excavations and has previously completed a PhD research at Imperial College into the causes of hypoxic gas during underground construction in the Lambeth Group beneath London.
