Yueyang Zhao

Wentworth House Partnership , technical director

Yueyang joined Wentworth House Partnership in 2013 after 11 years working as a piled foundation and retaining wall designer, project engineer and manager and researcher in the UK. He has worked on major projects including Stratford’s Athlete’s Village, London Bridge Place, Crossrail Paddington station, Tideway, Shield Hall Tunnel and Heads of Valleys Roads. Yueyang did his MEng research work on pushed-in piling full scale testing in Japan (GIKEN/Cambridge collaboration). He carried out his PhD works on the 10m diameter geotechnical centrifuge at Cambridge University. He also performed advanced triaxial and numerical modelling of in-situ soil testing (including large strain seismic cross hold and pressuremeter) for foundation performance prediction (Cementation Skanska/Cambridge collaboration) as part of his PhD work. Yueyang is a proponent of the importance of in-situ measurement and modelling of non-linear soil structural interaction of construction processes to allow better and more efficient design. He is leading a growing geotechnical team of 11 geotechnical engineers.
